These inks have the particularity of being erased with water and being sensitive (discoloration or color change) to different chemical agents: Bleach, 5% Bases, 5% Acids, Eraser Pencils, Ethanol Benzene 50/50 , Redox, Sodium Sulfate, Glycol Esther and Alcohol.
They are mainly used for printing security funds for bank checks, stocks and diplomas. In this case, if the forger attempts to modify the document by “washing” it, the printed part will bleed and the falsification will be immediately detectable. It is also possible to make these inks fluorescent.
The particularity of these inks being that they are sensitive to water, prohibits their use in wet offset, they can therefore only be printed in dry offset, letterpress and flexography.
The color intensities of these inks are quite low, this is due to the dyes used for their manufacture which only allow pastel colors.
